What a mess...
This wasn't right. How could it be?
She sighed deeply to herself, staring at her reflection, focusing mostly on her eyes. And the marks that were under them, the only marks she had. She slung her ears back, eyes stinging with tears. She was hideous, absolutely hideous. Outcast, unwanted. Those eyes, beautiful blue crystal eyes were nothing more than a curse to her. They were the most hideous unwanted feature she could ever wish for. Her chest heaved as she fought back her tears, thin body with bones protruding from her sides. Ribs visible, she rarely ate. But rather, hunted for everyone else. If she could feel her stomach begin to eat itself, she would nibble on perhaps, a rabbit or gnaw on a mouse. She rarely ate, she thought she was hideous enough already; meat on her bones would make her suicidal.
Rein couldn't remember when she didn't hate herself. Back when her parents were still alive, the alpha was still the alpha; and Kera's mother was still alive. She sighed, closing her eyes she felt a tear trickle from her eye, falling into the waters below. Her lip quivered as she flared her nostrils. Kera... Opening her eyes she stared across the other side of the river, toward the bank, sweeping her tail over the waters she whimpered. Although she always longed to be around, or near Kera. She was too shy, far too shy and too insecure about herself to ever even approach him. She could be considered stalker worthy though, admiring him from a distance, she made the best attempt to never be seen.
Thrashing her paws forward she flung herself at the waters. Not a droplet fell upon her however. Frozen in mid air, the splash hadn't made a sound, she grunted nervously to herself. Worthless, simply worthless. She shuddered gently, opening her eyes as they gleamed focusing on the droplets she watched them float. Still and clear, they were locked in time until she said so. She looked away, pulling her paws away from the river, resting them on the bank she shut her eyes, feeling a droplet fall upon her nose she shook herself, staring as the waters began to flow downstream again. She sighed to herself once more, nothing was ever going to be right again. Turning her back away from the crystal waters she sat on the banks, staring out at the trees with a solemn face, muzzle lowered toward the earth. With all of this chaos, she wasn't sure what she was going to do, she wasn't good with confrontation in the first place, but with the loss of someone important to Kera; she didn't even know if she could look him in the eye. She acted as if she had murdered the guy's mother. Rein was always so hard on herself.
